Utah Fireworks Ban 2026: Where to Watch Shows in Utah County

Fourth of July 2026 Utah County fireworks Eagle Mountain Saratoga Springs Lehi Provo events guide

Here's the thing that changes your Fourth this year: personal fireworks are banned across Utah through July 5 by emergency order. The good news is the big professional shows are still on, and 2026 is a bigger year than usual, because the country turns 250. So even if you can't light your own, you can still watch some of the best displays Utah County has ever put on. Here's where to go, city by city.

Wondering whether you can light anything at all this year? Here's what's legal under the ban, city by city.

About the Statewide Fireworks Ban

Governor Cox issued an emergency order prohibiting personal fireworks across Utah through July 5, 2026, and the state has moved to Stage 2 fire restrictions. The professional, permitted shows below are a different category and are still scheduled to go on. Fire conditions are changing fast this summer though, so confirm any show on its official page before you head out.

Why 2026 Is Different

Per America's Freedom Festival, this year marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. That milestone has pushed cities across the county to go bigger than usual, with larger fireworks budgets, more programming, and in Provo's case, one of the most significant Stadium of Fire lineups in years.

Utah County has 23 cities and communities, each with their own Fourth of July tradition. Here's where to watch, city by city.

Eagle Mountain

Cory Wride Memorial Park — July 4, 2026 | Activities from 8pm

Per Eagle Mountain City's official event page and confirmed by ABC4's 2026 Utah fireworks guide, Eagle Mountain is hosting its Fourth of July celebration at Cory Wride Memorial Park — live music, food trucks, and a fireworks display starting at 8pm.

Cory Wride Memorial Park is one of Eagle Mountain's largest community gathering spaces. Bring blankets, arrive early for parking, and plan for food trucks to be busy. The fireworks display is set against the Oquirrh Mountains, which makes for a natural backdrop.

Tip for new residents: This is a great way to meet neighbors. Eagle Mountain's community events draw significant turnout and have a genuinely warm, neighborhood feel.

Saratoga Springs

Patriot Park — July 4, 2026 | Live Music and Food Trucks | Fireworks around 10pm

Per KSL's 2026 Utah fireworks guide, Saratoga Springs is holding its city fireworks celebration at Patriot Park, with live music, food trucks, and a boutique. Fireworks are set to begin around 10pm.

Patriot Park is in western Saratoga Springs near the shoreline. The Utah Lake setting gives the fireworks a reflection view that's hard to beat in the county. Plan for traffic on Saratoga Road — it's the main artery and gets congested after the show. Leave early or stay a little late to let the traffic clear.

Also worth knowing: Prior years have featured the 23rd Army Band performing at Neptune Park in Saratoga Springs. Check the City of Saratoga Springs events page closer to July 4th for any updated programming details as the event schedule finalizes.

Lehi

Thanksgiving Point Freedom Celebration — July 4, 2026 | Gates open 4pm | Fireworks at 10pm | Free

Per KSL and KSLTV's event listings, Thanksgiving Point in Lehi is hosting its annual Freedom Celebration with free admission. Gates open at 4pm and the large fireworks display at 10pm is synchronized to country, pop, and rock music — heard live in Electric Park or broadcast on 93.3 FM.

This is one of the best free Fourth of July events in Utah County. Thanksgiving Point's sprawling grounds give you plenty of space to spread out, and the synchronized music display is genuinely excellent. Arrive early — parking fills up.

Provo — Stadium of Fire

LaVell Edwards Stadium, BYU — July 4, 2026 | Brad Paisley Headlining

This is the flagship Fourth of July event for all of Utah County and one of the most significant Independence Day celebrations in the country.

Per America's Freedom Festival's official announcement and confirmed by KSL's reporting, the 2026 Altabank Stadium of Fire features:

  • Brad Paisley headlining — returning after 15 years, his last Stadium of Fire was 2011
  • Nitro Circus — death-defying stunt performances
  • GENTRI — Billboard chart-topping vocal trio
  • Stadium of Fire Dancers
  • Military flyover from Hill Air Force Base
  • Parachute performers
  • Patriotic tributes to military and civilian heroes
  • A special pyro, drone, flame, and laser finale commemorating America's 250th year

Per Baruch/Gayton, the event production company, Stadium of Fire draws a live audience of 45,000 to 55,000 and is the biggest stadium-based Independence Day display of pyrotechnics and special effects in the United States. The live broadcast is donated to American Forces Network, reaching over one million military personnel in more than 100 countries.

Tickets are available at stadiumoffire.com — this event sells out, and the 250th anniversary makes 2026 particularly significant. Buy early.

Pleasant Grove

Discovery Park — July 4, 2026 | Fireworks around dusk

Per ABC4's fireworks guide, Pleasant Grove hosts its annual fireworks show at Discovery Park with fireworks beginning around dusk. A community favorite for families in north Utah County.

American Fork

Steel Days — Art Dye Park | July 25, 2026

Per Utah Valley's events guide, American Fork's Steel Days celebration at Art Dye Park includes fireworks. Note this is later than the Fourth — July 25 — as part of Pioneer Day celebrations. American Fork does the Fourth celebration separately; check americanfork.gov for July 4th specifics.

Spanish Fork and Other Utah County Cities

Per Utah Valley's 2026 fireworks guide, Spanish Fork's Fiesta Days fireworks are at Sports Park on July 24, 2026 — again, Pioneer Day timing. For July 4th specifically, Spanish Fork hosts local celebrations; check spanishfork.org for current July 4th event details.

Alpine City Days fireworks take place at Creekside Park on August 15, 2026 — a summer tradition for residents of Alpine.

Can You Light Your Own Fireworks in 2026?

Not this year, at least not through July 5. The statewide emergency order bans personal fireworks, and even in a normal year every Utah County city has restricted zones near open land and higher fire-risk areas. For the full picture, including the Pioneer Day window and each city's restriction maps, see Utah County fireworks rules, city by city.

America 250: Why This Year's Celebrations Are Bigger

2026 is the United States' semiquincentennial — 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Across Utah County, city budgets for Independence Day programming have increased to reflect the milestone. Provo's Stadium of Fire has specifically designed its 2026 show as a tribute to the 250th anniversary, with a pyro-drone-laser-flame finale unlike any previous year.

For families who moved to Utah County recently — or who are still deciding whether to make the move — this is a good year to experience the local July 4th culture. Utah County does Independence Day in a way that reflects the community's character: big, family-oriented, and genuinely celebratory.

What Makes Utah County's Fourth Special

Longtime residents know that Independence Day in this county is one of the most community-focused events of the year. Part of that is the density of young families — Utah County has one of the youngest median ages of any large county in the country. Part of it is the county's genuine civic pride. And part of it is the geography: fireworks against the backdrop of the Wasatch Range and Utah Lake are genuinely spectacular.

As I've covered in my guides to living in Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs, and Lehi, the sense of community in these cities is one of the most consistent things buyers mention after they move in. The Fourth of July is one of the clearest expressions of it.
